Let Dhaka live!

Let Dhaka live!

I get shocked every time I hear something very unpleasant about my country. Recently Dhaka is selected as the worst liveable city in the world by “The Economist”. This is not only a matter of horror but also extreme shame. And questioning the authenticity of the survey might be an exaggeration because the city dwellers know this truth better than the survey group. And not only this, Dhaka is said to be one of the cities that might get a devastating earth quack by another group of researchers. From every edge problem has become so intense. Basic human needs, food, shelter, and others are now on a question. The adulteration in food is damaging our health and life. Hours and hours are spoilt on the roads everyday as excessive traffics clog the road. Electricity is unpredictable yet some dream of a digital Bangladesh. Whenever any murder becomes a buzz then we notice a sudden massive arrest keeping the real offenders behind the stage, as we saw what happened following the killing of some students at university premises. Environment and ecosystems are under a direct threat for Bangladesh is well known to all. But still cutting down trees is at its full speed and there is nothing to say about the land and waterline grabbers, this act will be beautifully exposed in the rainy season. The problems are bigger than we could ever imagine. So how would be the steps of solution is another gigantic challenge. At this serious point, when the existence of our country is threatened, the rulers are busy in changing the names of Airport! I find an appropriate example in the Holy Qur’an when It says – (2:11)-when it is said to them:” do not make mischief on the earth” they say” why we only want to make peace!” (12)- Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realize it not. I would like to say to our honorable Prime minister please let not the dreams of Sheikh Mujib be faded away. Let Dhaka live and let out basic needs be ensured first of all.
